“Someone I know is now someone I knew.
No, the sadness never fades …”

I feel so honoured to have Paulie Stewart, the lead singer of Aussie cult band Painters & Dockers, ask to use one of my photos as their promo pic for the upcoming Meredith Music Festival.
I remember seeing Painters and Dockers years ago when they would play live in Treasury Gardens, just near Parliament House, to protest against the Kennett Government’s proposed (and unfortunately eventuated) School Closures.
Painters and Dockers incorporate social/economic/politics issues with a sense of humour. Some of their well-known hits are: Nude School, Die Yuppie Die, Eat Shit Die, and You’re Going Home in the Back of a Divvy Van.
If you haven’t heard of the band, look them up.

Last year, at SxSW, I remember seeing Jared and the Mill playing an impromptu gig on the street. They were impressive.
And they’re really nice guys too …
Now, I’m a bit late with this news (this happened on Saturday) but just in case you haven’t seen it yet …
Mason Endres was one of the victims of a car accident on Red River that left three people dead and nearly two dozen injured.
When one of her favorite bands, Jared and the Mill, heard she was in the hospital, they decided to play a special show for her.
SxSW: The people you attend with. The people you meet. The people you catch up with. The people who love music as much as you do.
Here are some of the more “publishable” pics from SxSW 2013:
Damn! That was a fun few days … and then it was … over. At that stage, I actually thought I may move to Austin but then, well, … life happens!
Maybe next year. Rock on this LONG weekend 🙂 xo
