“Someone I know is now someone I knew.
No, the sadness never fades …”
My music photo memory today is AC/DC. It follows on from yesterday’s blog post about photographing The Rolling Stones.
As I wrote about that experience, I was reminded of just how professional both bands, and their tour managers, were.
I was also reminded about how much both AC/DC and The Rolling Stones rocked.
I feel privileged to have been in the photo pit for both bands.
I’ll post my danger shots ~ EMINEM & Slipknot ~ soon.
One of my favourite pit memories is photographing The Rolling Stones a few years ago.
The band was fantastic live and so professional.
Their tour manager actually thanked photographers, on behalf of herself and the band, for helping to document the show. Rare respect.
This has only ever happened at one other show ~ AC/DC.
Usually band/tour managers leave the publicists in charge of the photographers and don’t come anywhere near us – unless it’s to warn us to be careful as there will be fireworks on stage (EMINEM) and drumkits on springs that just might bounce off stage (Slipknot).
Anyway, today I leave you with perfect Tuesday lyrics …
“Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I’m gonna miss you…
There’s no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away…”
Never knew much about KADAVAR until last year’s CherryFest … they easily became one of my faves!
And today, via Riot! Entertainment, this press release …
KADAVAR: official lyric video on ‘Eye Of The Storm‘ revealed!
German Classic Rock band KADAVAR are set to release their first ever live record called ‘Live In Antwerp’ as well as the ‘Abra Kadavar Special Edition’ on June 6th 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Now the Berlin-based trio has revealed the lyric video on the track ‘Eye Of The Storm’ on the Nuclear Blast YouTube channel.
Check out this psychedelic trip of a clip at the following link:
The 2CD set called ‘Abra Kadavar Special Edition’ will include the full tracklist of last year’s success album ‘Abra Kadavar’ plus a bonus track, as well as a full live set recorded in Antwerp. ‘Live In Antwerp’’ comes as a separate 2LP set and also features the full live concert recorded in 2013.
Wonder which band will be my new favourite after this week’s Cherry Rock?!
